What does a metropolitan Greek goddess, who loves nothing more than entertaining friends and spending time with family, need? A fresh and elegant space filled with possibility! From homework or watching a game, to serving up a feast or entertaining 25 friends—this uber chic client needed a flexible space that could do it all.
THE GREEK ISLES
M&H felt deeply inspired when they visited Anthe’s second home on a luxurious Greek island. They immediately recognized that her home in NJ was not reflective of her vibrant spirit. Anthe needed a space filled with rich textures and airy light—a space that would mimic her zest for life.
It was a bold choice to accent the large feature windows with dark trim, but M&H knew Anthe trusted them to make bold decisions. They presented her with ideas and were given a thumbs up to execute the vision. As a result Anthe has a modern window treatment highlighting the lofty ceiling and celebrating the view outside.
A harvest table and custom benches, instead of chairs were essential to give the space as much flexibility as possible. Benches are less prescriptive; they accommodate more bodies at the table, remove the formality of dining chairs, and draw your eye upwards to the large room, creating an inviting space to eat or hangout.
COZY & GLAMOROUS
Anthe needed a home that was cozy and glamorous; kid-friendly with an elegant adult appeal. Hidden shelving and sleek cabinets add to the modern quality while the spatial layout supports the family’s day-to-day activities— from TV watching to family dinners.
