ONCE UPON A TIME
This is a story of super stylish girl named Farah, who bought the house of her husband’s dreams: a house big enough for their kids’ friends and big enough for their own friends to fit happily under one roof. But having no input in the design build, the house did not look or feel like her dream house… yet.
Farrah called M&H for advice on how to make changes. The phone call made Hillary smile because she was immediately inspired by Farrah’s dreams and wishes. But it made Mimi nervous: how do you help an incredibly stylish client feel even more stylish? Gulp.
INDIVIDUAL & COHESIVE
We wanted to celebrate the individuality of both her and her husband, while creating a space that would tell one cohesive story. Farrah is boho surfer meets badass, Jersey glam. While Ken is all Mad Men sophistication. We decided to focus the family room on her, while giving the living room a ‘lounge’ vibe for him.
Custom made window seat benches in outrageous chartreuse cut velvet, paired perfectly with custom boho roman shades in a sophisticated floral jewel-tone. Always on the hunt, we lucked out on a stunning art piece that would remind our globe trotting family of their many adventures–and hopefully inspire some more!
We love finding the perfect pieces for our clients, and what this room still needed was a unique way to entertain. We found a cool mobile bar that can be folded up neatly or opened up to a reveal a classy inlaid wood interior, and—the best part—it’s on wheels! Ken and Farrah love their mid century chairs sourced in Florida and reupholstered in blush. Let the Soirees begin for this cosmopolitan couple!
